The DVI Port Upgrade kit is provided for customers that have previously purchased the PC Moderator without DVI port capability and have upgraded video cards or computers that have one or more DVI ports. This kit is included with the PCM-1 DVI. Use of the DVI port upgrade kit requires a display with a VGA input. If the monitor has a DVI input and is being used, the DVI input will no longer be used and as a result some reduction in the display quality may be observed. The kit includes:

  1. DVI-VGA Shield - prevents the PC Moderator from being removed when attached to a DVI to VGA adapter plug.
  2. DVI Port Lock - locks out access to additional DVI ports. Includes padlock.
  3. S-Video Cover Plate - blocks access to TV outputs present on many video cards (not pictured)
DVI Port Lock
The DVI Port Lock provides a secure way to lock access to an unused Digital Visual Interface (DVI) port on a computer with the PC Moderator installed. This is required when access to an alternate port might allow users to bypass the PC Moderator and connect the display to the alternate port (either directly or through a DVI to VGA adapter). Note that the PC Moderator can only connect to a VGA compatible port.

DVI-VGA Shield
The DVI to VGA Shield is a metal ring that covers an external DVI to VGA adapter and a portion of the PC Moderator. It prevents the DVI to VGA adapter from being removed (thus defeating the security of the PC Moderator) when connected between the PC/video card and the PC Moderator. It is necessary when the computer or video card does not have a VGA connector but instead has one or more DVI connectors and the video display has VGA input capabilities (most monitors and flat panels). It is designed to work with the most common DVI to VGA adapters. DVI to VGA adapter not included.
